Do not boast about tomorrow,
for you do not know what a day may bring.- Proverbs 27:1 (NIV)

We have been hearing people preach that God is “coming back soon”, which is true but what does that mean to us. Why should we be so scared of that or feel the need to rush and get things in order. After all they said soon and it has been hundreds of years, which has only given us the experience that “we have time”, but do we?

Do we have time, I mean clearly from this time line we can see that God’s idea of soon and our idea of soon are very different, in fact, they are on two ends of the spectrum. Think about it, “soon” does not mean “right now”, or is it? In Acts chapter 5 Ananias and his wife Sapphira dropped dead after lying to the Holy Spirit. They had no preparation, no warning, they weren’t sick or had any health issues but life was no longer in their bodies. In Daniel chapter 5 we read the story of King Belshazzar after receiving the interpretation of the writing on the wall did not humble himself and his life was taken from him that night. We could walk out our home and never return, or say goodbye to someone and not realized it is our last goodbye to them. Our wakening up of everyday is solely determined by God. Don’t get caught up in the idea that you have plenty of time to get your life right with God.

Soon may not be right now but it could be the next second. Soon should keep us in a position of readiness. We see in the scripture above that it says “do not boast about tomorrow”. Tomorrow is not promised to us, neither is the next second or hour. God’s word promises that He will come back for His children but it does not promise us that we will all be alive here on earth to see that coming. Some will die before that glorious day which is why we need to be prepared at all times and heed to the Lord when he tries to get our attention. Brothers and sisters this is why when the word of God is brought to your ears do not ignore it, because the word of God is coming to completion. Soon He will call your number, even now He stands at the door and knocks, are you ready? You are loved.

Pronto

No te jactes del día de mañana,
porque no sabes lo que el día traerá.- Proverbio 27:1 (NVI)

Hemos escuchado a personas predicar que Dios “regresará pronto”, lo cual es cierto, pero ¿qué significa eso para nosotros? ¿Por qué deberíamos tener tanto miedo de eso o sentir la necesidad de apresurarnos y poner las cosas en orden? Después de todo dijeron pronto y han pasado cientos de años, lo que solo nos ha dado la experiencia de que “tenemos tiempo”, pero ¿lo tenemos?

¿Tenemos tiempo? Quiero decir claramente que desde esta línea de tiempo podemos ver que la idea de Dios de pronto y nuestra idea de pronto son muy diferentes, de hecho, están en dos extremos del espectro. Piénsalo, “pronto” no significa “ahora mismo”, ¿o sí? En Hechos capítulo 5, Ananías y su esposa Safira cayeron muertos después de mentirle al Espíritu Santo. No tenían preparación, ni aviso, no estaban enfermos ni tenían ningún problema de salud, pero la vida ya no estaba en su cuerpos. En Daniel capítulo 5 leemos la historia del rey Belsasar después de recibir la interpretación de la escritura en la pared no se humilló y le quitaron la vida esa noche. Podríamos salir de nuestra casa y nunca regresar, o decir adios a alguien y no darnos cuenta es nuestro ultimo adios a esa persona. Nuestro despertar de cada día está únicamente determinado por Dios. No se deje atrapar por la idea de que tiene mucho tiempo para arreglar su vida con Dios.

Pronto puede que no sea ahora mismo, pero podría ser el próximo segundo. Pronto debería mantenernos en una posición de preparación. Vemos en la escritura anterior que dice “no os jactéis del día de mañana”. El mañana no se nos promete, tampoco el próximo segundo o la próxima hora. La palabra de Dios promete que Él regresará por Sus hijos, pero no nos promete que todos estaremos vivos aquí en la tierra para ver esa venida. Algunos morirán antes de ese día glorioso, por lo que debemos estar preparados en todo momento y prestar atención al Señor cuando trata de llamar nuestra atención. Hermanos y hermanas, por eso, cuando la palabra de Dios llegue a sus oídos, no la ignoren, porque la palabra de Dios se está cumpliendo. Pronto Él llamará a tu número, incluso ahora Él se para en la puerta y toca, ¿estás listo? Eres amado.

Blasphemy

The unforgivable sin. What is this horrible sin? Have we committed it? We know Blasphemy is wrong but a lot of us do not have a true grasp as to what it really means or what it is. I too struggled with this question and understanding in my own mind and heart. I would always find it very difficult to explain this to others.

A few months back I was talking with one of my cousins and the topic of Blasphemy came up again. I realized I was not the only one with these questions nor the only one who found it hard to explain, but it definitely sparked something in me. As Christians we should always have a ready answer for our faith, and there is no excuse not to, because we have the word of God right there at our finger tips. So, I looked up the word in the Bible with a friend and we went on an almost a 2 month journey just on the word Blasphemy. That was not including the other tenses of the word. Brothers and Sisters I can now say: I have been enlightened by the word of God and have a ready answer. Praise God! What I found through the word was so simple of an explanation. Yet, it definitely caused me to do a sincere heart check, not to mention have so much more respect for my God.

We all have addiction and sin in our lives. All addiction and sin is the same in God’s eyes. Now some of you may say “Oh no it is not” but it is and I will explain why in a moment. Anyone can be delivered from any addiction or any sin. All sin is forgivable, I know you are probably thinking “Wait, you just said that Blasphemy is the unforgivable sin”. I did and that is correct but….. God is not so concerned about the sin we are entangled with or our addictions as He is with our hearts. EVERY SIN was nailed to the cross that day on Calvary.

In last months blog I mentioned when God places people in your life to bring you a word from him or they speak to you about the gospel and you roll your eyes because you don’t want to hear it. Or you hear a preaching in church, or on tv or on your phone and you don’t obey. Or you say things like: “I will serve God in my own way” instead of the way He commands us to. You are hardening your heart towards God. Brothers and Sisters Blasphemy is not a particular sin, offense or addiction we have or commit but the posture of our heart towards God and His truth. It is a decision that we make against the Holy Spirit, who is Truth. That posture of our heart will cause us to mock God, scoff at the things of God, have irreverence for God. That posture of rejection toward God every time He has tried to reach out to us through someone or something and we do not surrender, we blaspheme the Holy Spirit. That heart posture will cause us to take this Christian Walk lightly, live a life that our words and deeds are no longer Holy.

Believing in God is one thing, accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior is another but it is the Holy Spirit who is our guaranteed inheritance into the kingdom of God (Eph. 1:14). King Saul and Samson were men who believed in God, were used by God yet because of the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit (the hardening of their hearts toward Him) God removed His Holy Spirit from them and they didn’t even know it. Blasphemy hinders us from humbling our hearts before God and asking for forgiveness. Your sin is not greater than God but God can not forgive a heart that is not willing to repent or surrender. It is in repentance that God can set us free from those sins and addictions that have us enslaved.

Brothers and sisters, humble your hearts before God, abide in His word, and give Him the opportunity to set you free from slavery in the name of Jesus. Blasphemy is a horrible sin that can cost you your salvation, don’t let that happen to you. Surrender and Submit to God today! You are loved.

And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.– Matthew 12:31 (NIV)

Blasfemia

El pecado imperdonable. ¿Qué es este horrible pecado? ¿Lo hemos cometido? Sabemos que la blasfemia está mal, pero muchos de nosotros no tenemos una comprensión real de lo que realmente significa o qué es. Yo también luché con esta pregunta y comprensión en mi propia mente y corazón. Siempre me resultaría muy difícil explicar esto a los demás.

Hace unos meses atras estaba hablando con uno de mis primas y volvió a surgir el tema de la blasfemia. Me di cuenta de que no era la única con estas preguntas ni la única al que le resultaba difícil de explicar, pero definitivamente algo encendió en mí. Como cristianos, siempre debemos tener una respuesta lista para nuestra fe, y no hay excusa para no hacerlo, porque tenemos la palabra de Dios al alcance de la mano. Entonces, busqué la palabra en la Biblia con una amiga y emprendimos un viaje de casi 2 meses solo con la palabra Blasfemia. Eso no incluía los otros tiempos de la palabra. Hermanos y hermanas, ahora puedo decir: he sido iluminado por la palabra de Dios y tengo una respuesta lista. ¡Alabado sea el Señor! Lo que encontré a través de la palabra fue una explicación tan simple. Sin embargo, definitivamente me hizo hacer un chequeo sincero de mi corazón, sin mencionar que tengo mucho más respeto por mi Dios.

Todos tenemos adicciónes y pecado en nuestras vidas. Toda adicciónes y pecado es lo mismo en los ojos de Dios. Ahora, algunos de ustedes pueden decir “Oh, no, no lo es”, pero lo es y explicaré por qué en un momento. Cualquiera puede ser liberado de cualquier adicción o de cualquier pecado. Todo pecado es perdonable, sé que probablemente estés pensando “Espera, acabas de decir que la blasfemia es el pecado imperdonable”. Lo hice y eso es correcto pero… Dios no está tan preocupado por el pecado con el que estamos enredados o nuestra adicciónes como lo está con nuestros corazones. CADA PECADO fue clavado en la cruz ese día en Calverio.

En el blog del mes pasado, mencioné cuando Dios pone personas en tu vida para traerte una palabra de él o te hablan del evangelio y pones los ojos en blanco porque no quieres escucharlo. O escuchas una predicación en la iglesia, en la televisión o en tu teléfono y no obedeces. O dices cosas como: “Serviré a Dios a mi manera” en lugar de la forma en que Él nos manda. Estás endureciendo tu corazón hacia Dios. Hermanos y hermanas La blasfemia no es un pecado, ofensa o adicción particular que tengamos o cometamos, sino la postura de nuestro corazón hacia Dios y su verdad. Es una decisión que tomamos contra el Espíritu Santo, que es la Verdad. Esa postura de nuestro corazón hará que nos burlemos de Dios, nos burlemos de las cosas de Dios, tengamos irreverencia hacia Dios. Esa postura de rechazo hacia Dios cada vez que ha tratado de llegar a nosotros a través de alguien o algo y no nos rendimos, blasfemamos contra el Espíritu Santo. Esa postura del corazón hará que tomemos este caminar cristiano a la ligera, vivamos una vida en la que nuestras palabras y obras ya no sean santas.

Creer en Dios es una cosa, aceptar a Jesús como tu Señor y Salvador es otra, pero es el Espíritu Santo quien es nuestra herencia garantizada en el reino de Dios (Efesios 1:14). El Rey Saúl y Sansón fueron hombres que creyeron en Dios, fueron usados por Dios pero por la blasfemia contra el Espíritu Santo (el endurecimiento de sus corazones hacia Él) Dios quitó Su Espíritu Santo de ellos y ellos ni siquiera lo supieron. La blasfemia nos impide humillar nuestro corazón ante Dios y pedir perdón. Tu pecado no es más grande que Dios pero Dios no puede perdonar un corazón que no está dispuesto a arrepentirse o rendirse. Es en el arrepentimiento que Dios puede liberarnos de esos pecados y adicciones que nos tienen esclavizados.

Hermanos y hermanas, humillen sus corazones ante Dios, permanezcan en Su palabra y denle la oportunidad de liberarlos de la esclavitud en el nombre de Jesús. La blasfemia es un pecado horrible que te puede costar tu salvación, no dejes que eso te suceda. ¡Ríndete y sométete a Dios hoy! Eres amado.

Por eso les digo que a todos se les podrá perdonar todo pecado y toda blasfemia, pero la blasfemia contra el Espíritu no se le perdonará a nadie.– Mateo 12:31 (NVI)

Surrender and Submit

“I tried God, I tried church”- How many of us have heard our friends and family members say this before or perhaps we ourselves have said this at one time in our lives. God asks us to surrender and submit, not to try Him or the church.

God will not just come and take your addictions, bad habits or rebellion away. He wants us to surrender them to Him. By surrendering to God you are telling Him that you do not want anything to come in between you both. Surrender is a form of worship, take Moses for a example. The people of Israel were in a battle but as long as Moses had his arms raised in a position of surrender they would win but as his arms started to go down they would begin to lose (Exodus 17:11). That is how it is when we try to do things in our own strength, we begin to lose the battle in which we are in. Doing things on our own without God just makes things worse, ultimately resulting in us quitting or returning back to the very thing we were trying to abstain from. Submitting to God’s will means to submit to His Word. That’s why it is so important to develop a personal relationship with God, to know His word and what it says. His words are your weapon when the enemy tries to tempt you to go backwards or give up. His word is life, strength, power and has already defeated the enemy once before.

Trying God or Church will never set you free, but having an intimate relationship with Him, obeying His word will set you free and keep you free. You see, because it is not your bad habits, addictions or rebellion that keeps you enslaved to them but your heart posture. Our heart posture is either humbled before God or hardened to him. Every time you read the bible, hear a preaching, a song, read a book, or a family member or friend has ministered to you and you turn the other way, you are hardening your heart towards God. Only to be further enslaved in your sin. God tells us in His word do not just be hearers of the word but doers. He says if you just hear what it says and do not obey it or apply it to your life you deceive yourself (James 1:22).

Brothers and sisters, the Holy Spirit has already conquered sin and death, let him do this work in your life and stop shutting Him out. You do not have to do it alone but you do need to crucify the flesh daily. Trust Him, surrender and submit to our Heavenly Father and be set free. You are loved.

6. But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says:
“God opposes the proud
but shows favor to the humble.”
7. Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

“Rendirse y Someterse”

“Probé a Dios, probé a la iglesia”: cuántos de nosotros hemos escuchado a nuestros amigos y familiares decir esto antes o quizás nosotros mismos lo hemos dicho alguna vez en nuestras vidas. Dios nos pide que nos rindamos y nos sometamos, no que lo probemos a Él o a la iglesia.

Dios no solo vendrá y quitará tus adicciones, malos hábitos o rebeldías. Él quiere que se los entreguemos. Al rendirte a Dios, le estás diciendo que no quieres que nada se interponga entre los dos. La rendición es una forma de adoración, toma a Moisés como ejemplo. El pueblo de Israel estaba en una batalla, pero mientras Moisés tuviera los brazos levantados en una posición de rendición, ganarían, pero a medida que sus brazos comenzaran a bajar, comenzarían a perder (Éxodo 17:11). Así es como cuando tratamos de hacer las cosas con nuestras propias fuerzas, comenzamos a perder la batalla en la que estamos. Hacer las cosas por nuestra cuenta sin Dios solo empeora las cosas, lo que finalmente resulta en que renunciemos o regresemos a lo mismo de lo que estábamos tratando de abstenernos. Someterse a la voluntad de Dios significa someterse a Su Palabra. Por eso es tan importante desarrollar una relación personal con Dios, conocer Su palabra y lo que dice. Sus palabras son tu arma cuando el enemigo trata de tentarte para que retrocedas o te rindas. Su palabra es vida, fuerza, poder y ya una vez venció al enemigo.

Probar a Dios o a la Iglesia nunca te hará libre, pero tener una relación íntima con Él, obedecer Su palabra te hará libre y te mantendrá libre. Ves, porque no son tus malos hábitos, adicciones o rebeldía lo que te mantiene esclavizado a ellos sino la postura de tu corazón. La postura de nuestro corazón es humillada ante Dios o endurecida ante él. Cada vez que lees la biblia, escuchas una predicación, una canción, lees un libro, o un familiar o amigo te ha ministrado y te vuelves hacia el otro lado, estás endureciendo tu corazón hacia Dios. Sólo para ser aún más esclavizados en su pecado. Dios nos dice en Su palabra que no solo seamos oidores de la palabra sino hacedores. Él dice que si solo escuchas lo que dice y no lo obedeces o lo aplicas a tu vida, te engañas a ti mismo (Santiago 1:22).

Hermanos y hermanas, el Espíritu Santo ya venció el pecado y la muerte, déjenlo hacer esta obra en su vida y dejen de excluirlo. No tienes que hacerlo solo, pero sí necesitas crucificar la carne diariamente. Confía en Él, ríndete y sométete a nuestro Padre Celestial y sé libre. Eres amado.

6. Pero él nos da mayor ayuda con su gracia. Por eso dice la Escritura:
«Dios se opone a los orgullosos,
pero da gracia a los humildes».
7. Así que sométanse a Dios. Resistan al diablo, y él huirá de ustedes.

Because God Says So

Brothers and sisters I want to share this truth with you tonight. God is Sovereign, God doesn’t just allow things to happen, He ordains it.

When you didn’t qualify for a job but got it anyway, it’s because God said so.
When you should of died but didn’t, it is because God said so.
When these natural disasters happen like tornados, hurricanes, earthquakes et cetera, it is not because God allowed them but because He said so.
When you wake up in the morning or you don’t wake up, it’s because God says so.

We do not even have the power to take our last breath unless God says so, because even our breath is His. Satan does not have the power to take anything from us or do anything to us unless God says so. Everything and everyone is subject to God and His sanction. Nothing was made on its own but by the word of God. All things including Satan surrender to His command. Nothing or no one has power unless God Himself has given it to them. We can see that here during Jesus’ trial… 10. “Do you refuse to speak to me?” Pilate said. “Don’t you realize I have power either to free you or to crucify you?” 11. Jesus answered, “You would have no power over me if it were not given to you from above. (John 19:10-11a NIV) Satan is not God’s equal but a creation of His. Satan’s story is also written before he lived a single day, just like ours. The difference is God wrote that we are the head and not the tail, above and not beneath, more than conquerors. We have been given dominion and authority over Satan because God said so. Satan only has the power he has been given. Including the power we give him over our lives, but his power still yields to the mighty power of our God who is omnipotent. When we grab a hold of this truth we will no longer give Satan or anything our power or the credit. We have been given free will to choose who we will serve, God or His creation, our flesh or His Holy Spirit, but creation brothers and sisters only bows down to the throne of God.

We may not always understand why God created Satan and gave him any power but what we do know is that Satan’s powers and evil schemes still need approval from the Lord God Almighty. The Holy Spirit shows us that in this verse… “The Lord said to Satan, “Very well, then, everything he has is in your power, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.” Then Satan went out from the presence of the Lord.” (Job 1:12 NIV) Even in this verse we see that Satan could not go beyond what God said. Nothing moves without the command of God, even the winds obey Him. So when the economy crashes, pandemics happen, natural disasters occur, or things happen in our lives that we can’t control, it is because God says so….. every time things like this happened in the word of God, He would say “so that they will know that I am the Lord God”. When bad things happen to you or in this world, do not run and hide but lift your head to the heavens and say “Father, you are the Lord God”. When God says so, know there is victory on the other side of that for His children.

Brothers and sisters I pray this blog will encourage, strengthen, refocus and center your hearts and minds on whom we serve for He is the Lord God who is sovereign, in Jesus name. Your are loved.

Porque Dios lo dice

Hermanos y hermanas, quiero compartir esta verdad con ustedes esta noche. Dios es soberano, Dios no solo permite que sucedan cosas, Él lo ordena.

Cuando no calificaste para un trabajo pero lo obtuviste de todos modos, es porque Dios lo dijo.
Cuando debiste haber muerto pero no lo hiciste, es porque Dios lo dijo.
Cuando estos desastres naturales suceden como tornados, huracanes, terremotos etcétera , no es porque Dios los permitió sino porque Él lo dijo.
Cuando te despiertas por la mañana o no te despiertas es porque Dios lo dice.

Ni siquiera tenemos el poder de tomar nuestro último aliento a menos que Dios lo diga, porque incluso nuestro aliento es Suyo. Satanás no tiene el poder de quitarnos nada o hacernos nada a menos que Dios lo diga. Todo y todos están sujetos a Dios y Su sanción. Nada fue hecho por sí solo sino por la palabra de Dios. Todas las cosas, incluido Satanás, se rinden a su mandato. Nada ni nadie tiene poder a menos que Dios mismo se lo haya dado. Podemos ver eso aquí durante el juicio de Jesús … 10. ¿Te niegas a hablarme? —le dijo Pilato—. ¿No te das cuenta de que tengo poder para ponerte en libertad o para mandar que te crucifiquen? 11. No tendrías ningún poder sobre mí si no se te hubiera dado de arriba —le contestó Jesús. (Juan 19:10-11a NVI) Satanás no es igual a Dios, sino una creación suya. La historia de Satanás también está escrita antes de que él viviera un solo día, al igual que el nuestro. La diferencia es que Dios escribió que somos la cabeza y no la cola, arriba y no abajo, más que vencedores. Se nos ha dado dominio y autoridad sobre Satanás porque Dios así lo dijo. Satanás solo tiene el poder que se le ha dado. Incluyendo el poder que le damos sobre nuestras vidas, pero su poder aún se une al gran poder de nuestro Dios que es opnipotente. Cuando nos aferramos a esta verdad, ya no le daremos a Satanás ni a nada nuestro poder ni nuestro crédito. Se nos ha dado libre albedrío para elegir a quién serviremos, a Dios o ha Su creación, a nuestra carne o ha Su Espíritu Santo, pero los hermanos y hermanas de la creación solo se postran ante el trono de Dios.

Es posible que no siempre entendamos por qué Dios creó a Satanás y le dio poder, pero lo que sí sabemos es que los poderes de Satanás y sus planes malvados todavía necesitan la aprobación del Señor Dios Todopoderoso. El Espíritu Santo nos muestra que en este versículo… 12. Muy bien, le contestó el Señor. Todas sus posesiones están en tus manos, con la condición de que a él no le pongas la mano encima. Dicho esto, Satanás se retiró de la presencia del Señor.” (Job 1:12 NVI) Incluso en este versículo vemos que Satanás no pudo ir más allá de lo que Dios dijo. Nada se mueve sin el mandato de Dios, incluso los vientos le obedecen. Entonces, cuando la economía colapsa, ocurren pandemias, ocurren desastres naturales o suceden cosas en nuestras vidas que no podemos controlar, es porque Dios lo dice … cada vez que ocurren cosas como estas en la palabra de Dios, Él haría di “para que sepan que yo soy el Señor Dios”. Cuando le sucedan cosas malas a usted o en este mundo, no corra y se esconda, levante la cabeza al cielo y diga: “Padre, tú eres el Señor Dios”. Cuando Dios lo diga, sepa que hay victoria al otro lado de eso para Sus hijos.

Hermanos y hermanas, oro para que este blog anime, fortalezca, vuelva a enfocar y centre sus corazones y mentes en quienes servimos porque Él es el Señor Dios que es soberano, en el nombre de Jesús. Eres amado.

Change

Last months blog we talked about “Preparation”. Today I like to talk a little bit more about the “Change” that comes after the preparation. As Christians we often get confused between the two. While preparation can feel a lot like a pressing and beating, change is more of a releasing and surrendering. Neither feel good in the moment but when we follow through and keep moving forward we get to experience God’s newness for our lives. The timing of preparation is dependent on God but the timing of change is dependent on us. You see change involves our free will and is the place that we join God in what He has already started.

The change after the preparation involves us surrendering our plans, desires and whatever He ask of us to Him. In this change God may ask us to release certain things, like a relationship we are in, or a friendship that we have had for a long time. Maybe a job that we really like, or a home that we saw as our forever home and for God it was temporary because He has one up ahead that is even better. In this process it may seem like you have lost more than you have gained but God is putting you in a position to receive.

I used the example of Bread in last months blog. When we are in the fire, in the midst of the circumstance and situation, that is when God is transforming us. Change is not a step we can avoid, if we want to get to Newness we have to go through the change. It is hard to appreciate the change while in the process but once you go through it nothing ever looks the same including us.

Brothers and sisters if you are in this process of “Change”, take heart God is doing a new thing. I leave you with the same verse from last month, meditate on it and remind yourselves of it when the heat from the fire gets too hot. You are loved.

18. Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
19. See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?

Cambio

En el blog del mes pasado hablamos de “Preparación”. Hoy me gusta hablar un poco más sobre el “Cambio” que viene después de la preparación. Como cristianos, a menudo nos confundimos entre los dos. Si bien la preparación puede parecer una presión y una paliza, el cambio es más una liberación y una entrega. Ninguno de los dos nos sentimos bien en el momento, pero cuando seguimos adelante y seguimos avanzando, llegamos a experimentar la novedad de Dios para nuestras vidas. El momento de la preparación depende de Dios, pero el momento del cambio depende de nosotros. Verá que el cambio involucra nuestro libre albedrío y es el lugar donde nos unimos a Dios en lo que Él ya ha comenzado.

El cambio después de la preparación implica que le entreguemos nuestros planes, deseos y todo lo que Él nos pida. En este cambio, Dios puede pedirnos que dejemos ciertas cosas, como una relación en la que estamos o una amistad que hemos tenido durante mucho tiempo. Tal vez un trabajo que realmente nos guste, o un hogar que vimos como nuestro hogar para siempre y para Dios fue temporal porque Él tiene uno por delante que es aún mejor. En este proceso, puede parecer que has perdido más de lo que has ganado, pero Dios te está poniendo en una posición para recibir.

Usé el ejemplo de Pan en el blog del mes pasado. Cuando estamos en el fuego, en medio de la circunstancia y la situación, es cuando Dios nos está transformando. El cambio no es un paso que podamos evitar, si queremos llegar a la Novedad tenemos que pasar por el cambio. Es difícil apreciar el cambio durante el proceso, pero una vez que lo atraviesas, nada se ve igual, incluidos nosotros.

Hermanos y hermanas, si están en este proceso de “Cambio”, anímense que Dios está haciendo algo nuevo. Los dejo con el mismo verso del mes pasado, mediten en ello y recuérdenlo cuando el calor del fuego se ponga muy caliente. Eres amado.

18. Olviden las cosas de antaño;

Preparation

When God is doing something New in our lives, it is a 3 step process:

1. Preparation
2. Change
3. Newness

Sometimes we confuse the preparation process with the change process. So when we are expecting the Newness to come, we really should be expecting the Change. Sometimes we give up on the Newness believing we heard God wrong or we sensed the Holy Spirits moving incorrectly, because we do not realize that the stage we were just in was only the preparation for the change not the change itself.

Take Bread for example- the dough is prepared before you put it in the oven so it can withstand the process it is about to go through. It is only when it has been through the fire and removed from the oven is it called bread. It is only then it can be served and eaten.

The same is true for us. We need to go through the preparation process, which can feel like a lot of removing, pressing, exposing, sharpening, pulling….all preparing us for the changes that are going to start taking place. Through this process of preparation God is strengthening our foundation, assuring his word in our hearts so that when the change begins to take place; we are not easily shaken, being able to withstand what is to come. There are moments our knees will buckle under us but His word will lift us up and when we stand we will be standing on the foundation He built in the preparation process, a firm foundation.

It is only when we go through that process that we can enter into the Newness that Christ has for us or wants to take us in. Newness can mean something different for each of us depending on what God has spoken to our hearts but still the same process.

Brothers and sisters, don’t give up. Check your hearts against the word. Ask God to show you where He has you at in the process. You may be in the preparation process or the change process but know you are IN the process and if you are IN the process then you are that much closer to Newness.

See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland.- Isaiah 43:19 (NIV)

“Preparación”

Cuando Dios está haciendo algo Nuevo en nuestras vidas, es un proceso de 3 pasos:

1. Preparación
2. Cambio
3. Novedad

A veces confundimos el proceso de preparación con el proceso de cambio. Entonces, cuando esperamos que llegue la Novedad, realmente deberíamos estar esperando el cambio. A veces renunciamos a la Novedad creyendo que escuchamos a Dios mal o sentimos el movíendo del El Espíritu Santo incorrectamente, porque no nos damos cuenta de que la etapa en la que estábamos era solo la preparación para el cambio, no el cambio en sí.

Tome el pan por ejemplo- la masa se prepara antes de meterla en el horno para que aguante el proceso por el que está a punto de pasar. Solo cuando ha pasado por el fuego y se saca del horno se le llama pan. Solo entonces se puede servir y comer.

Lo mismo es cierto para nosotros. Necesitamos pasar por el proceso de preparación, que puede parecer mucho quitar, presionar, exponer, afilar, tirar … todo preparándonos para los cambios que van a comenzar a ocurrir. A través de este proceso de preparación Dios está fortaleciendo nuestro fundamento, asegurando su palabra en nuestro corazón para que cuando el cambio comience a producirse; no somos conmovidos fácilmente, siendo capaces de resistir lo que está por venir. Hay momentos en que nuestras rodillas se doblarán debajo de nosotros, pero Su palabra nos levantará y cuando nos levantemos, estaremos parados sobre los cimientos que Él construyó en el proceso de preparación, un cimiento firme.

Es solo cuando pasamos por ese proceso que podemos entrar en La Novedad que Cristo tiene para nosotros o quiere acogernos. La Novedad puede significar algo diferente para cada uno de nosotros dependiendo de lo que Dios ha dicho a nuestro corazón, pero sigue siendo el mismo proceso.

Hermanos y hermanas, no se rindan. Compare sus corazones con la palabra. Pídale a Dios que le muestre dónde lo tiene en el proceso. Puede estar en el proceso de preparación o en el proceso de cambio, pero sepa que está EN el proceso y si está EN el proceso, entonces está mucho más cerca de La Novedad.

Here and Now

While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.- Romans 5:8 (NIV)

Take a moment and just read that verse again, let it really sink in to your spirit. Hear what it is saying.

This verse tells us, God did not wait for us to be good, perfect or sinless in order for Him to sacrifice His son for us. So then why is it many of us wait till we are good, perfect or sinless in hopes of being able to stand before Him? God lives in the here and now, He is not waiting for a perfect moment or a perfect person. He wants you to choose Him and accept His son Jesus that paid the price for you and I. When Jesus was faced with this sacrifice, He wasn’t thinking of any other moment but the one He was in. He didn’t say “can you give me few years to think about it”. Or “well this one is not a good person and this one is beyond help”. No, He spread His arms wide open and was nailed to a cross, paying the cost for past, present and future sins.

He did not wait for us to be perfect or for us to reach all our goals for Him to save us, because He is already perfect and His timing is perfect. He invites you to come boldly before His throne, knowing that He knows what you have done and are doing yet He still wants you to be part of His family. Stop waiting to get things right or to the way you think He wants you to be. Let Him do the work in you. When He does, He does not leave any loose ends, He says “it is finished”. Scripture says: “He who has started a work in you will see it to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (Phil 1:6 NIV).

Brother’s and sister’s He is still in that posture today… arms wide open, ready to welcome you to live a life with Him. It doesn’t matter what you have done. Live in the now, tomorrow is not promised. Hear His call, accept His call, live out His call today, now, don’t wait. Live in this moment with God. You are loved.

Aquí y Ahora

En que cuando todavía éramos pecadores, Cristo murió por nosotros.– Romanos 5:8 (NVI)

Tómate un momento y vuelve a leer ese versículo, deja que se hunda en tu espíritu. Escuche lo que dice.

Este versículo nos dice que Dios no esperó a que seamos buenos, perfectos o sin pecado para que Él sacrificara a Su hijo por nosotros. Entonces, ¿por qué muchos de nosotros esperamos hasta ser buenos, perfectos o sin pecado con la esperanza de poder estar delante de Él? Dios vive en el aquí y ahora, no está esperando un momento perfecto o una persona perfecta. Él quiere que lo elijas y aceptes a Su hijo Jesús que pagó el precio por ti y por mí. Cuando Jesús se enfrentó a este sacrificio, no estaba pensando en ningún otro momento que no fuera en el que estaba. No dijo ” me puedes dar unos años para pensarlo “. O “pues, esta no es una buena persona y esta está más allá de la ayuda”. No, abrió los brazos de par en par y fue clavado en una cruz, pagando el costo de los pecados pasados, presentes y futuros.

Él no esperó a que fuéramos perfectos o que alcanzáramos todas nuestras metas para que Él nos salvara, porque Él ya es perfecto y Su tiempo es perfecto. Él te invita a presentarte con valentía ante Su trono, sabiendo que Él sabe lo que has hecho y lo que estás haciendo, pero aún quiere que seas parte de Su familia. Deja de esperar para hacer las cosas bien o de la forma en que crees que Él quiere que seas. Deja que Él haga el trabajo en ti. Cuando lo hace, no deja cabos sueltos, dice “consumado es”. La Escritura dice: “Él que comenzó tan buena obra en ustedes la irá perfeccionando hasta el día de Cristo Jesús” (Fili. 1:6 NVI).

Hermano y hermana, Él todavía está en esa postura hoy … con los brazos abiertos, listo para darte la bienvenida a vivir una vida con Él. No importa lo que hayas hecho. Vive en el ahora, el mañana no está prometido. Escuche Su llamado, acepte Su llamado, viva Su llamado hoy, ahora, no espere. Viva en este momento con Dios. Eres amado.

Greater Than

Several years ago my sister died from Cancer. I know… so many of us hear this word and cringe. Right away a bomb drops in our stomachs, we feel so hopeless and defeated. Those around us struggle to find the right words of comfort, leaving them feeling helpless. In an instant our world that seemed so promising, with so much time, comes crashing down. Life as we have envisioned it, full of color, now seems so dark. Moments like this have a way of bring us to our knees, as if someone just ripped the rug from under us. Our family portrait will never be the same.

I know so many people who have lost someone so dear to them. Whether because of Cancer, Covid, Drugs, Violence, Aids, Suicide, etc. All left feeling the same way, helpless and defeated. So much anger builds up against these sicknesses. There are walks, clothing, media post and so forth. Saying things like “I hate cancer, cancer took my love one”. The internet is flooded with comments and stories like this. Often times with post of our hate for these things, while few ask for prayer. One thing that these all have in common is… the focus is on the sickness. But what good is it to pray to God if we do not believe God and what He says.

Lately I have been reminded, and reflecting on “Who God is”. God is greater! No sickness, pandemic, threat, situation you are going through is bigger than God. Not even death, because He defeated death on the cross! Cancer didn’t take your love ones life nor my sister’s, because it does not have the power to do so. God is the one who breathes life in us. He has written our birth date as well as our death date. Whether Melinda had cancer or not, her life span here on earth was only written to the age of 9 years old.

⦁God is greater than Cancer.
⦁God is greater than Covid.
⦁God is greater than any War or Attack.
⦁God is greater than any Addiction.
⦁God is greater than any Pandemic.
⦁God is greater than any Sickness or anything that comes against us.
⦁God is greater than Death.

God is greater, and everything is under His authority. Let us not lose focus of that. Let us not give these sicknesses, storms, trials and tribulations we go through power that ultimately belongs to God. They do NOT change who He is. My God is greater, do you agree? You are loved.

Más Grande Que

Hace muchos años atras, mi hermana murió de cáncer. Lo sé … muchos de nosotros escuchamos esta palabra y nos encogemos. De inmediato cae una bomba en nuestros estómagos, nos sentimos tan desesperados y derrotados. Quienes nos rodean luchan por encontrar las palabras adecuadas de consuelo, dejándolos indefensos. En un instante, nuestro mundo que parecía tan prometedor, con tanto tiempo, se derrumba. La vida como la hemos imaginado, llena de color, ahora parece tan oscura. Momentos como este tienen una forma de ponernos de rodillas, como si alguien acabara de arrancar la alfombra debajo de nosotros. Nuestro retrato familiar nunca volverá a ser el mismo.

Conozco a muchas personas que han perdido a alguien tan querido para ellos. Ya sea por cáncer, covid, drogas, violencia, sida, suicidio, etc. Todos se fueron sintiendo lo mismo, indefensos y derrotados. Se acumula tanta ira contra estas enfermedades. Hay paseos, ropa, publicaciones en los medios, etc. Decir cosas como “Odio el cáncer, el cáncer se llevó a mi amado”. El internet está inundado de comentarios e historias como esta. Muchas veces con post de nuestro odio por estas cosas, mientras que pocos piden oración. Una cosa que todos tienen en común es … la atención se centra en la enfermedad. Pero de qué sirve orarle a Dios si no le creemos a Dios y lo que Él dice.

Últimamente me han recordado y reflexionando sobre “Quién es Dios”. ¡Dios es más grande! Ninguna enfermedad, pandemia, amenaza, situación por la que estás pasando es más grande que Dios. ¡Ni siquiera la muerte, porque venció a la muerte en la cruz! El cáncer no se llevó la vida de tus seres queridos ni la de mi hermana, porque no tiene el poder para hacerlo. Dios es el que nos da vida. Ha escrito nuestra fecha de nacimiento y nuestra fecha de muerte. Si Melinda tenía cáncer o no, su tiempo de vida aquí en la tierra solo se escribió hasta la edad de 9 años.

⦁ Dios es más grande que Cáncer.
⦁ Dios es más grande que Covid.
⦁ Dios es más grande que cualquier Guerra o Ataque.
⦁ Dios es más grande que cualquier Adicción.
⦁ Dios es más grande que cualquier Pandemia.
⦁ Dios es más grande que cualquier enfermedad o cualquier cosa que venga contra nosotros.
⦁ Dios es más grande que La Muerte.

Dios es más grande y todo está bajo Su autoridad. No perdamos el enfoque de eso. No demos a estas enfermedades, tormentas, pruebas y tribulaciones que atravesamos por un poder que en última instancia pertenece a Dios. NO cambian quién es Él. Mi Dios es más grande , ¿estás de acuerdo? Eres amado.

Dear Beloved,

You have been on my mind from the beginning of time. I remember as I placed each strand of hair on your head, I numbered it. I watched as you grew. I called you by name even before your parents gave you a name. The day you were born was one of the most happiest days of my life. To see your being- whole, complete, and full of life. There was so much I had instore for you. See while you were being formed in your mothers womb, I was busy writing each one of your days out. I thought of every detail, I didn’t leave anything out. I wrote about your ups and downs, your trials and triumphs. I even wrote about the times you would disobey me, but not to worry, even that I created a plan for. You see I want you to succeed at everything you put your mind to in life. I want you to triumph over the enemy, I want you to be more than a conqueror. Nothing will be able to stand in your path. I know, I know… there are going to be times you are going to be so scared that you will feel paralyzed, unable to move or push forward. I will be right by your side, you do not have to do anything alone, I will always be with you. On your battle days when you feel so exhausted that you can’t even walk, I will carry you. You can place your right hand in my right hand and I will lead you. Lighting your way with every step you take, by my words. You see, everything I am telling you I decided to write it down in a book, so that you will never forget it. I want my words to uplift you when you are down, to carry you through your darkest moments, and bring you outstanding joy. When you read them I want you to think of me, you may not always see my face but my spirit will always be with you.

I am so proud of who you are becoming; more and more you remind me of myself. Going against the current. Feeling like you are all alone in this walk, like no one gets it or sees you. I know you have had it rough but you persevered. Your amazing! I see you and I am so proud to call you my own. I know at times you have not always made the best decisions but your growing. I am reminded of the many nights we stood up talking, you asked so many questions, hahaha. You weren’t ready always to admit you were wrong or even ready for some of the answers you asked questions to, but eventually you sat and listened. In time, as I continued to be there for you and show you the right things and the right way, you came around. You are my beloved in whom I am well please. I will always fight for you. Hold tight to my words, remind yourself of them daily, I promise you that all will go well with you if you do so. I love you with an everlasting love, I long for the day when I look to the right of me and see you seated there beside me. Till that day.

Querido Amado,

Has estado en mi mente desde el principio de los tiempos. Recuerdo que mientras colocaba cada hebra de cabello en tu cabeza, lo numeraba. Vi como crecías. Te llamé por tu nombre incluso antes de que tus padres te dieran un nombre. El día que naciste fue uno de los días más felices de mi vida. Ver tu ser- entero, completo, y lleno de vida. Había tanto que tenía guardado para ti. Veras, mientras te formabas en el vientre de tu madre, yo estaba ocupado escribiendo cada uno de tus días. Pensé en cada detalle, no dejé nada fuera. Escribí sobre tus altas y bajas, tus pruebas y triunfos. Incluso escribí sobre las veces que me ibas a desobedecer, pero no te preocupes, incluso para eso creé un plan. Porque quiero que tengas éxito en todo lo que te propongas en la vida. Quiero que triunfe sobre el enemigo, quiero que sea más que un coquistador. Nada podrá interponerse en tu camino. Lo sé, lo sé… habrá ocasiones en las que tendrás tanto miedo que vas a sentir paralizado, incapaz de moverte o seguir adelante. Estaré a tu lado, no tienes que hacer nada solo, siempre estaré contigo. En tus días de batalla, cuando te sientas tan exhausto que ni siquiera puedas caminar, te cargaré. Puedes poner tu mano derecha en mi mano derecha y yo te guiaré. Iluminando tu camino en cada paso que dés con mis palabras. Ves, todo lo que estoy diciendo, decidí anotarlo en un libro, para que nunca lo olvides. Quiero que mis palabras te animen cuando estás deprimido, te lleven a través de tus momentos más oscuros y te traigan una alegría sobresaliente. Cuando las leas, quiero que pienses en mí, es posible que no siempre veas mi rostro, pero mi espíritu siempre estará contigo.

Estoy tan orgulloso de la persona en la que te estás convirtiendo; me recuerdas cada vez más a mí mismo. Ir en contra de la corriente. Sentirse como si estuviera completamente solo en esta caminata, como si nadie lo entendiera ni lo viese. Sé que lo has pasado mal pero perseveraste. ¡Eres increíble! Te veo y estoy muy orgulloso de llamarte mío. Sé que a veces no siempre has tomado las mejores decisiones pero estás creciendo. Recuerdo las muchas noches que estuvimos hablando toda la noche, hiciste tantas preguntas, jajaja. No siempre estaba listo para admitir que estaba equivocado o incluso listo para algunas de las respuestas a las preguntas las cuales estabas haciendo, pero finalmente se sentó y escuchó. Con el tiempo, mientras seguía estando ahí para ti y te mostraba las cosas correctas y de la manera correcta, te diste cuenta. Eres mi amado en quien estoy bien complacido. Yo siempre lucharé por ti. Aférrate a mis palabras, recuérdalas todos los días, te prometo que todo te irá bien si lo haces. Te amo con un amor eterno, anhelo el día en que mire a mi derecha y te vea sentada a mi lado. Hasta ese día.

The Present

God is in the past and the future. He is the beginning and the end, the Alpha and the Omega. But…. where God really wants to be…. is in your PRESENT.

⦁ He wants to be present in the midst of your storm.
⦁ He wants to be present in the moments of your greatest accomplishments.
⦁ He wants to be be present when the tears are running down your face.
⦁ He wants to be present when you buy your first car or home.
⦁ He wants to be present in the checkout line.
⦁ He wants to be present in the doctors office or in the waiting room.
⦁ He wants to be present at school and when you get your first A.
⦁ He wants to be present on your first date and at your wedding.
⦁ He wants to be present in the delivery room and when you give your child their name.
⦁ He wants to be present in your finances.
⦁ He wants to be present when you switch jobs or move to a new place.

God wants to be involved and present in every area, decision, and moment in your life. Not because God is nosey, but because we serve a God who just loves to be a part of everything that we do. He knows it all, the past, present, and future. When the story was written and how it all ends, but even still He can’t seem to put the book of your life down. God will never turn down an invitation from us to be a part of our decisions or life’s moments. He wants to be present right now where ever you are at and what ever you are doing. He wants to be there. Invite Him into your heart and in your situation, He is always there, for He is omnipresent, but will you invite Him in? His presence will change your world and His love for you still wont fit in it, that is how much He loves us.

God has proclaimed who He is: “The Alpha and The Omega” but will you let Him also be your “Present”? Your are loved.

“El Presente”

Dios está en el pasado y el futuro. Él es el principio y el fin, El Alfa y La Omega. Pero … donde Dios realmente quiere estar … es en tu PRESENTE.

⦁ Quiere estar presente en medio de tu tormenta.
⦁ Quiere estar presente en los momentos de tus mayores logros.
⦁ Quiere estar presente cuando las lágrimas corran por tu rostro.
⦁ Quiere estar presente cuando compre su primer automóvil o casa.
⦁ Quiere estar presente en la fila con la cajera.
⦁ Quiere estar presente en el consultorio del médico o en la sala de espera.
⦁ Quiere estar presente en la escuela y cuando recibas tu primera A.
⦁ Quiere estar presente cuando salgas a tu primera cita con alguien especia y en tu boda.
⦁ Quiere estar presente en la sala de partos y cuando le dé a su hijo su nombre.
⦁ Quiere estar presente en tus finanzas.
⦁ Quiere estar presente cuando cambie de trabajo o se mude a un nuevo lugar.

Dios quiere estar involucrado y presente en cada área, decisión y momento de tu vida. No porque Dios sea entrometido, sino porque servimos a un Dios al que le encanta ser parte de todo lo que hacemos. Él lo sabe todo, el pasado, el presente y el futuro. Cuándo se escribió la historia y cómo termina todo, pero aún así, parece que Él no puede dejar el libro de tu vida. Dios nunca rechazará una invitación nuestra para ser parte de nuestras decisiones o momentos de nuestra vida. Quiere estar presente ahora mismo donde sea que estés y lo que sea que estés haciendo. Quiere estar ahí. Invítalo a tu corazón y en tu situación, Él siempre está ahí, porque Él es omnipresente, pero ¿lo invitarás a entrar? Su presencia cambiará tu mundo y su amor por ti todavía no encajará en él, eso es lo mucho que nos ama.
Dios ha proclamado quién es Él: “El Alfa y La Omega”, pero ¿dejarás que Él también sea tu “Presente”? Eres amado.
