“Beside the rivers of Babylon, we sat and wept as we thought of Jerusalem.
We put away our harps, hanging them on the branches of poplar trees .
For our captors demanded a song from us.
Our tormentors insisted on a joyful hymn: “sing us one of those songs of Jerusalem!”
But how can we sing the songs of the Lord while in a pagan land?”
Psalm 137:1-4
I am able to sigh from relief after the month I’ve had to experience. It’s never easy to have to face difficult times in our lives . It’s very difficult to hold on to hope and have faith when all that surrounds you seems to be uncertainty.
My grandfather was going through a life risking surgery. My mother was also In the hospital. although I was hoping and praying for the best .. I can’t deny that the weight of my doubts were getting the best of me. I started to think how can I find joy in moments like these? How do I stay firm in my faith? How do I not feel discouraged in a time like this?
I was beginning to let it all just overcome me.
I know that I’m not the only one that faces difficult times in which we feel we’ve been drained of all hope and faith. In our darkest moments; our toughest times; the times where we feel there’s no hope we must turn away from the noise of all the mixed thoughts and doubts in our heads that cause us to feel so discouraged and rob us of our joy. We must pick up our harps and sing our joyful song in the middle of our “pagan land” (difficult times).
We can’t give up or give in . We can’t stop doing the things God called us out to do. We must learn to sing even through the pain. Worship even when we are broken. Seek God even through the uncertain for He is our source of joy, peace, love, life, healing, salvation – our every NEED we find in HIM.
“I WILL go to the altar of God, to God- the SOURCE of ALL my JOY. I will PRAISE you with my harp, o God , my God! Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I WILL put my HOPE IN GOD! I WILL PRAISE him AGAIN- MY SAVIOR and MY GOD !”
Psalm 43:4-5
PRAISE REPORT – God has seen us through our difficult time my grandpa is recovering at a rehabilitation facility and my mother is home feeling better. Though the process is not over yet, in the middle of it all God is present and for that we are grateful.

Canta A Través Del Dolor
“Junto a los ríos de Babilonia, nos sentamos y lloramos al pensar en Jerusalén. Guardamos nuestras arpas en las ramas de los álamos. Para nuestros captores exigió una canción de nosotros. Nuestros torturadores insistieron en un himno alegre: “cantaos uno de esos cantos de Jerusalén!” Pero ¿cómo podemos cantar los cantos del Señor mientras estamos en tierra pagana?”
Salmo 137: 1-4
Soy capaz de suspirar de alivio después del mes que he tenido que experimentar. Nunca es fácil tener que enfrentar tiempos difíciles en nuestras vidas. Es muy difícil aferrarse a la esperanza y tener fe cuando todo lo que te rodea parece ser la incertidumbre.
Mi abuelo estaba pasando por una cirugía que arriesgaba su vida. Mi madre también estaba en el hospital. Aunque esperaba y oraba por lo mejor .. No puedo negar que el peso de mis dudas estaba tomando lo mejor de mí. Comencé a pensar cómo puedo encontrar alegría en momentos como estos? ¿Cómo me mantengo firme en mi fe? ¿Cómo no me siento desanimado en un tiempo como este?
Estaba empezando a dejar que todo me venciera.
Sé que no soy la única que enfrenta tiempos difíciles en los que sentimos que hemos sido drenados de toda esperanza y fe. En nuestros momentos más oscuros; Nuestros tiempos más difíciles; Los momentos en que sentimos que no hay esperanza debemos alejarnos del ruido de todos los pensamientos y dudas mezclados en nuestras cabezas que nos hacen sentir tan desanimados y nos roban nuestra alegría. Debemos coger nuestras arpas y cantar nuestra alegre canción en medio de nuestra “tierra pagana” (tiempos difíciles).
No podemos rendirnos o darnos por vencidos. No podemos dejar de hacer las cosas que Dios nos llamó a hacer. Debemos aprender a cantar incluso a través del dolor. Adorar incluso cuando estamos quebrantados. Busquen a Dios incluso a través de lo incierto, porque Él es nuestra fuente de alegría, paz, amor, vida, sanidad, salvación – todas nuestras NECESIDADES que encontramos en ÉL.
“Iré al altar de Dios, a Dios, la FUENTE de TODA MI ALEGRÍA. ¡Te alabaré con mi arpa, oh Dios, Dios mío! ¿Por qué estoy desanimado? ¿Por qué mi corazón está tan triste? ¡Pondré mi ESPERANZA EN DIOS! ¡LO ALABARÉ DE NUEVO – MI SALVADOR Y MI DIOS!”
Salmo 43: 4-5
TESTIMONIO – Dios nos ha visto a través de nuestro tiempo difícil, mi abuelo se está recuperando en una instalación de rehabilitación y mi madre está en casa sintiéndose mejor. Aunque el proceso no ha terminado todavía, en medio de todo Dios está presente y por eso estamos agradecidos.
